It works like a Credit Card but Gtbank Naira Mastercard is a prepaid Credit Card and actually not the same as a debit card. Gtbank naira master card is easy fast and free. You can use the card on any automated teller machine to withdraw cash from your gtbank account and also use this same card online to purchase any thing from any website if accepted. Provided you activate the card online through Gtbank online banking before using it to transact any business online.

How to obtain a GTB Naira Mastercard

1. Walk straight to any Gtbank in Nigeria and order for your naira mastercard if you already have an account with the Bank. You will be asked to fill and submit a form for the card. You can also download the form on their official website fill and submit it but i prefer the offline method. That is how i did mine. Gtb will send you a text after 2 weeks mine was more though, notifying you that your requested card is ready.

2. After collecting and activating your card, you can start using it immediately on any atm machine. The gtb naira mastercard has a 16-digit master number on it's face, it bears your name, gtb mastercard logos and the date of it's expiry. A 3-digit number is written on the back-the CCV2 number. 

To activate online transaction with the naira mastercard, you will need to have a mastercard token for generating secret pins and an internet banking account for activating your token. All these process is simple and easy. Go to any gtbank and request for an internet banking account, you will have to fill the form and submit it. The internet banking account comes with the token device. This is a small device accompanied by an ID which is generated from your account number. and this is how it looks like

i was charged 3000 naira and so will you. The token has a 10-digit number on the back if you turn it the other side.

Before you start using this token, you will have to activate it with your internet banking account. Visit www.gtbank.com go to internet banking - login - enter your account number ID and the password you received on the sheet of paper you were given. Enter the token number to activate it, the number is located at the back of the token device and hit log in. 

In the next page, you will see a page where you can obtain a secured code for online transaction. Follow the instructions and steps provided. You will be asked to enter the following details your name, e-mail address, security question and answer, date of birth you used when opening your account enter a new security code eg ABC123 and continue. 

How to purchase with your Gtbank Naira Mastercard Online. 

Go to the product or service web page you want to buy from and select buy, pay, purchase etc, select pay by card and a checkout page will pop up. Enter the 16-digit number on the front of your naira mastercard, the exact name on the card and the 3-digit CCV2 number written on the back and click continue. A page from Gtbank will popout check the welcome page very well to verify that it matches the one you set for your card to avoid been scammed. Enter the information required by the new page such as security question, security code, etc and click on continue and you will be notified whether your payment is done.

Google Adsense Pin Not Received via Mail? Get Alternative

Google Adsense is one of the easiest means to make money online from your online contents.

During registration, publishers would be required to enter their home address to receive their payment via check when it's time.

Each publisher must verify their home address before Google can send them their earnings. Verification is done via PIN. This PIN will be sent by Google via mail.

Google believes this will enable publishers to confirm the accuracy of their payment address and payee name.

Whenever a new publisher account reaches $12, a PIN will be generated automatically and sent to the publisher by standard post. The PIN is expected to reach the publisher between 2 to 4 weeks.

Some couple of days ago, a client contacted me that his blog no longer display Google ads due to his lateness to verify his address.

Google has already sent a Personal Identification Number to his mailing address but he didn't receive any thing. He requested again until he reached the limit (3) for PIN Verification request.  Moreover, the address he supplied in his Google Adsense account is correct.

My client is a Nigerian; he didn't get the PIN because of the poor postal service here. He however required for any other alternative from me.

I told him to go back to his Adsense account settings to complete the required form and attach a digital image of a government issued ID card, bank statement, or telephone bill displaying his payee name and mailing address as it appears in his account.

He followed my advice and got his account verified within 3 day without any ado.

Google promised once you complete the form placed here and attached the required documents, they'll respond within 2-3 days regarding your PIN verification status.

From my experience, this only works when you have reached the limit (3) for PIN verification request.

If you have exhausted the 3 chances, use this method to verify your address.

1. Installing and Connecting Dstv Drifta on laptops and PCs

The Dstv Drifta mobile decoder is also compatible with PC. the decoder receives DVB-H mobile broadcast signals and transmit the signals to your PC through a WiFi network. in other to instal this device and connects it on your laptop, your PC must meet up the following requirements

Operating system

Windows XP, vista or windows 7

Processor

32 or 64 Bit

Memory

Minimum of 512MB

Disk space

Minimum of 100Mb USB port

Installation

1. Insert the drifta installation CD on your PC and run the setup application. follow it to complete installation.

2. Power on the drifta and wait for the DVB-H light to turn green and steady. it will take up to 3 minutes when starting the device for the first time

3. Stretch the antenna and position it vertically.

4. Then connect the device to your laptop via a usb cable

Clicking a channel in the schedule will display the channel view

Double clicking a channel will start broadcasting the channel

You can change channels using the left and right buttons on the player screen shown on your desktop

2. Installing and Connecting Dstv Drifta on iPhone, iPod, iPad and Phones

The drifta also allows you to watch mobile TV on your mobile phones via a WiFi network. the mobile phone requirement includes iPhones, iPod touch, iPad running iOS version 4 or higher.

Installation

You can search for the Dstv Mobile Decoder on your apple store, iOS device or through iTunes on your computer. an application from multichoice will appear, download and install it on your device.

Connecting the Drifta Dstv Mobile Decoder on your Device to watch mobile TV

Wi-fi  must be enabled on your iOS device. power on the drifta and wait for the DVB-H light to go steady green. (it may take 3 minute)

Remove the antenna and position it vertically

launch the Drifta application on your iOS device and select the device IDs that displays, which corresponds with your Drifta and it will pair.

A list of channels will then be displayed. simply select the channel of your choice and start watching

That's all you can use your drifta anywhere provided you are within the coverage area and your viewing device meets up with the minimum system requirement.

Startimes Slashes Bouquet Prices As DSTV Increases Theirs

If you have Startimes in Nigeria and you are watching them all the time, you come to realize that you won't really miss DSTV that much except for the Live European Soccer matches they show. With the 20% increase in all DSTV bouquet prices early this month by Multi-choice Company, a lot of DSTV subscribers including me have now abandon them to Startimes and other Free to air Satellites.

Recently, I got a message from Startimes telling me that they are including a new bouquet to their existing bouquets and will also be slashing the prices of their former bouquets.

The message reads thus

"This is to inform our esteem customers that another bouquet has been introduced on Starsat called NOVA bouquet with 36 channels for N600 monthly. The N3000 subscription will now be N1800 with 85 channels, 4 new channels will be added namely: Iroko play, Irokoplus, movie world and AMC series, all will take effect from 1st May 2015. Thank you for your patronage".

This is really nice from Startimes making cable TV that affordable for common Nigerians to afford subscription. With the inclusion of FOX, FX, FOXCRIME at extremely low price is really cool to us. All we are waiting for is they include the sport channels and televise live European matches and Nigerian League matches then everybody will abandon DSTV for good.

The greatest danger to free speech on the Internet today is filtering of traffic using protocol fingerprinting. Protocols such as SSL, Tor, BitTorrent, and VPNs are being summarily blocked, regardless of their legal and ethical uses. Fortunately, it is possible to bypass this filtering by reencoding traffic into a form which cannot be correctly fingerprinted by the filtering hardware. I will be presenting a tool called Dust which provides an engine for reencoding traffic into a variety of forms. By developing a good model of how filtering hardware differentiates traffic into different protocols, a profile can be created which allows Dust to reencode arbitrary traffic to bypass the filters. Dust is different than other approaches because it is not simply another obfuscated protocol. It is an engine which can encode traffic according to the given specifications. As the filters change their algorithms for protocol detection, rather than developing a new protocol, Dust can just be reconfigured to use different parameters. In fact, Dust can be automatically reconfigured using examples of what traffic is blocked and what traffic gets through. Using machine learning a new profile is created which will reencode traffic so that it resembles that which gets through and not that which is blocked. Dust has been created with the goal of defeating real filtering hardware currently deployed for the purpose of censoring free speech on the Internet. In this talk I will discuss how the real filtering hardware work and how to effectively defeat it.
