Previously in one of my post How to watch dstv channels on your laptops and iPhone devices, I had promise to write back on how you can install this software on your PC, laptops, iPhones, Smartphones, iPads, iPods etc. in this article, i will show you how to use dstv drifta on your laptops and mobile phones after purchasing the hardware device.
1. Installing and Connecting Dstv Drifta on laptops and PCs
The Dstv Drifta mobile decoder is also compatible with PC. the decoder receives DVB-H mobile broadcast signals and transmit the signals to your PC through a WiFi network. in other to instal this device and connects it on your laptop, your PC must meet up the following requirements
Operating system
Windows XP, vista or windows 7
Processor
32 or 64 Bit
Memory
Minimum of 512MB
Disk space
Minimum of 100Mb USB port
Installation
1. Insert the drifta installation CD on your PC and run the setup application. follow it to complete installation.
2. Power on the drifta and wait for the DVB-H light to turn green and steady. it will take up to 3 minutes when starting the device for the first time
3. Stretch the antenna and position it vertically.
4. Then connect the device to your laptop via a usb cable
Connecting the Drifta mobile decoder on your laptop to watch mobile TV
To watch the mobile television stations on your laptop, launch the drifta client application shown on your desktop and it will perform a channel scan. after detecting the available channels, it will start showing Mobile TV (you will only be able to do this if you subscribe to their plan)
Clicking on the schedule icon will display all available channels and their schedules
Clicking a channel in the schedule will display the channel view
Double clicking a channel will start broadcasting the channel
You can change channels using the left and right buttons on the player screen shown on your desktop
2. Installing and Connecting Dstv Drifta on iPhone, iPod, iPad and Phones
The drifta also allows you to watch mobile TV on your mobile phones via a WiFi network. the mobile phone requirement includes iPhones, iPod touch, iPad running iOS version 4 or higher.
Installation
You can search for the Dstv Mobile Decoder on your apple store, iOS device or through iTunes on your computer. an application from multichoice will appear, download and install it on your device.
Connecting the Drifta Dstv Mobile Decoder on your Device to watch mobile TV
Wi-fi must be enabled on your iOS device. power on the drifta and wait for the DVB-H light to go steady green. (it may take 3 minute)
Remove the antenna and position it vertically
launch the Drifta application on your iOS device and select the device IDs that displays, which corresponds with your Drifta and it will pair.
A list of channels will then be displayed. simply select the channel of your choice and start watching
That's all you can use your drifta anywhere provided you are within the coverage area and your viewing device meets up with the minimum system requirement.
